Authenticity Statement
The Corvus Cohort regulations on the authenticity of outfits and items is an experiment in the
world of living history and reenacting. Taking a step away from the norm, members are not
required to wear 100% authentic clothing, so long as the items represent historic clothing and are
not blatantly fantasy. Fully authentic clothing is highly encouraged, though the standard cost of requiring such clothing (often reaching hundreds of dollars) is removed in order to allow for those with less means to portray history and educate others.
Instead of an emphasis on highly authentic clothing and gear, a greater emphasis is placed on
the individual's knowledge of history, the group's portrayal of authentic society, and the
member's ability and willingness to share the history with the public.
The authenticity will be regulated by the officers of the organization.
